Green Polyethylene (Green Plastic)

Image of sugarcane in its raw form

Green polyethylene is produced from the ethanol derived from sugarcane, a renewable raw material. 10-20%* of each bag is made with Green Plastic from Sugarcane.

  • Renewable Raw Material
    • Rather than being manufactured from non-renewable oil or natural gas reserves, Green Plastic is made from sugarcane sourced from Brazil.
  • Absorption of CO2
    • Being a renewable feedstock, sugarcane captures and sequesters CO2 from the atmosphere every annual growth cycle.
  • Strong & Reliable
    • Similar properties you’ve come to depend on with traditional plastic; shelf-stable

*Our bags are made from a resin blend of PCR and Green Plastic from Sugarcane. Trace amounts of virgin polyethylene are used in the colorant of the bag. We are working towards eliminating all virgin PE elements in the near future.

GreenPolly Resealable Bags have obtained the I'm Green BioBased Seal!

Resealables are made with 100% Green Plastic from Sugarcane and have obtained the I'm Green BioBased Seal. The bags went through ASTM D6866-18 Method B (AMS) testing. This test, tests the BIOBASED content of a product. 100% Biobased Carbon indicates that a material is entirely sourced from plants or animal by-products and 0% Biobased Carbon indicates that a material did not contain any carbon from plants or animal by-products. A value in between represents a mixture of natural and fossil sources.
